The Donation Yatra is a journey of Karma Yoga that offers relief to Sri Lankans devastated by Cyclone Ditwah. We are incredibly thankful to all our students and the 1 World community for making this possible. Experience the power of giving and wellness through yoga. Join us in our yoga projects as we give back to local communities in need.

At Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project, we stand with communities in the Badulla District during times of hardship. Following the recent disaster in the Spring Valley (Maymally Division) area, many families were affected, and school children were temporarily staying at the estate school. Through our wellness through yoga initiatives and the generous support received via our GoFund fundraising campaign, we were able to provide meaningful assistance to these innocent families and children during this challenging time. From our hearts, we thank every donor and supporter who made our yoga projects possible. Your kindness translated into real help on the ground. May you all be blessed.

As part of our ongoing community support work and our commitment to Karma Yoga, we visited the Disaster Relief Center in Passara Ury Estate – Agarathenna Division, where 35 families are currently staying after being affected by the disaster. Our main purpose was to motivate, listen, and emotionally support the families as they face this challenging time, promoting wellness through yoga principles.
During the visit, we spent time with the community, sharing positive guidance, hope, and encouragement to help them rebuild their strength and confidence. We reminded everyone that they are not alone, and that with unity, patience, and support, they can overcome these difficulties step by step.
This visit was a simple but meaningful effort to bring comfort, courage, and human connection to families who are going through uncertainty—helping them feel seen, heard, and supported as they move forward in our yoga projects.

At Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project, we extended our support to disaster-affected families in Meegahakiula and Thaldena. While many children were living in temporary shelters, we visited to provide essential support, alongside our mission of promoting wellness through yoga, bringing hope and encouragement.
We distributed school stationery to help the children continue their learning, and we held a motivational session to remind them of the importance of staying strong, believing in themselves, and persevering through challenging times. This aligns with our belief in the power of yoga projects to uplift communities and foster resilience.
To everyone who donated and supported this mission, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Your generosity brought comfort and real smiles to these children and families. May you be blessed for your kindness.

In Badulla – Hali-Ela, families affected by the Ditwah disaster lost their homes and were temporarily staying at the village school. Through the Karma Yoga Project, which emphasizes wellness through yoga, we provided cooking materials and essential supplies to support their daily needs and bring relief during this difficult time, thanks to the kindness of our donors. These yoga projects aim to foster community resilience and well-being.

At Passara – Ury Estate (Factory Division), we embraced the principles of Karma Yoga by supporting local families with fresh vegetables for their daily cooking needs during a challenging time. This initiative not only provided wellness through yoga-inspired community care but also became a significant relief for many households. Our efforts were made possible through the generosity of our donors and the collective spirit of the Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project, which aims to uplift lives through impactful yoga projects.

With the support of HOPE Foundation in Badulla, the Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project provided essential school stationery to over 30 students impacted by the disaster. Many of these children were residing in temporary shelters, and this initiative not only aided their education but also promoted wellness through yoga, helping them continue learning with dignity, confidence, and hope.

Motivation & Mental Support Session – Ury Estate Factory Division
At Ury Estate (Factory Division), where families were temporarily staying at the estate tea factory, the Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project conducted a motivational session focused on wellness through yoga to provide emotional and mental support. We shared positive energy, kind words, and encouragement, embracing the principles of Karma Yoga to help people feel stronger, calmer, and more hopeful during this difficult period.

As part of the Avadiya – Karma Yoga Project, we embraced the spirit of wellness through yoga by celebrating Christmas with disaster-affected families in Spring Valley (Maymally Division). Our aim was to bring comfort, joy, and togetherness during this challenging time. We cooked and shared a special meal that included fried rice, Christmas cake, and sweets, creating warm moments and smiles while reinforcing that they are not alone in their journey. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to impactful yoga projects that support community healing.
